1. Removing Lamination & Patchy Stain

  • Q: What's the best way to remove lamination? Why does the stain sometimes look patchy afterwards?
  • A: Water works wonders! Patchiness can stem from various factors, so it is important to troubleshoot those brows.

2. Tint Shelf Life

  • Q: How long can I use Thuya tints after opening?
  • A: 12 months! Plenty of time to create those brow masterpieces.

3. That Step 1 Smell

  • Q: Why does Thuya Step 1 have a strong odour?
  • A: It's the ammonium thioglycolate doing its magic! The scent is due to the release of sulfur-hydrogen during the chemical process. Thuya keeps it real with no added fragrances.   

4. Lamination & Henna - A No-Go?

  • Q: Can I do Thuya lamination and brow henna on the same day?
  • A: Not ideal! Some henna brands can darken brows significantly during lamination. Hybrid dyes are your best bet for same-day services.

5. Creamy vs. Liquid Oxidant

  • Q: What's the difference between Thuya's creamy and liquid oxidants?
  • A: Both work equally well! It boils down to personal preference. Many artists favour the creamy texture for easier application. 

6. Lamination & Microblading Timing

  • Q: When can clients get lamination after microblading?
  • A: Wait until the microblading is fully healed! Lamination after microblading is the recommended order.

7. Hair Loss Concerns

  • Q: Why do some clients experience hair loss after lamination?
  • A: Over-processing (leaving Step 1 on for too long) or improper aftercare are often the culprits.

8. Lamination & Spray Tans

  • Q: Can clients get a spray tan after brow lamination?
  • A: Timing is key! Apply the spray tan at least 3 days before or after lamination. Tanning products can react with the tint and cause discolouration.

9. Film or No Film?

  • Q: Do I need to use a wrap film for Steps 1 and 2?
  • A: Not essential, but recommended, especially for Step 1.

10. Aftercare Advice

  • Q: What aftercare do you recommend?
  • A: If using a professional aftercare product, brows should be kept dry for 4 hours. Otherwise, advise clients to keep them dry for 24 hours.

11. Lash Lifts with Thuya?

  • Q: Can I use Thuya lamination for lash lifts?
  • A: Absolutely! The same system works for both. Lash lift processing time is typically 10-15 minutes but adjust based on hair structure, porosity, room temperature, and glue amount.

12. Lamination Longevity

  • Q: Why doesn't Thuya lamination last on some clients?
  • A: Under-processing and improper aftercare can affect longevity. Emphasize proper moisturising, daily brushing, and professional aftercare products.

13. Processing Times

  • Q: I'm seeing different processing times for Thuya, which one is right?
  • A: Thuya processing times depend on several factors, including:

* Hair type: Coarse, thick hair needs more processing time than fine, thin hair.

* Hair porosity: Highly porous hair absorbs product faster.

* Room temperature: Warmer temperatures speed up processing.

* Use of film/wrap: Covering the brows creates a "greenhouse effect" and accelerates processing

14. Sensitive Skin

  • Q: Can I use Thuya on sensitive skin?
  • A: Thuya products are generally well-tolerated, but it's essential to perform a patch test before a full brow lamination treatment, especially on clients with sensitive skin. If you notice any irritation, discontinue use.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS Any item can be returned and refunded if it is returned within 14 days from the date you receive your parcel. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. The refund will be processed to the original method of payment. We recommend using a tracked service to return the goods as all transport risk is borne by the sender.
