Frequently Asked Questions About Salon Sterilisation
Find answers to common questions below.
A UV steriliser uses ultraviolet light to help keep cleaned tools hygienic while they're stored between clients. Tools should always be cleaned first, as UV only works on the surfaces it can reach.
No. UV cabinets are best used to store tools after they've been properly cleaned and disinfected. Always follow your local health regulations for the treatments you offer, as some instruments need a higher level of sterilisation.
Towel warmers keep towels warm for facials, waxing and shaves. Hot towel cabinets often hold more towels, and some, like the Joiken UV hot towel cabinet, include a UV light as well.
Capacity varies by model, from compact warmers for single rooms to twin units like the Joiken twin towel warmer for busier salons. Check each product's specifications for exact sizes.
Unplug the unit, wipe the inside with a mild disinfectant and let it dry fully before use. Empty water trays daily on steam units and follow the care guide that comes with each product.
