Transitioning from crisp hair strokes to a soft, pixelated combo brow without a machine often leaves manual artists struggling with patchy pigment retention, uneven saturation, and prolonged procedural times. Stippling with standard flat blades can lead to harsh, blocky edges that fail to mimic the gentle diffusion of a true powder brow.

The Tina Davies 19 Shader Microblade is a professional-grade manual shading tool specifically engineered to deposit soft, pixelated layers of pigment seamlessly between hair strokes. Featuring 19 surgical-grade 316 stainless steel pins configured at a 0.35mm gauge within a slanted honeycomb cluster, this disposable manual PMU shader allows artists to quickly build multidimensional volume and density without relying on a digital handpiece.

Tactile Saturation & Clinical Precision

  • 0.35mm Honeycomb Cluster: The dense, circular 19-pin configuration acts like a stamp, evenly dispersing pigment into the papillary dermis to create a soft, airbrushed pixelation effect rather than harsh lines.
  • 30-Degree Ergonomic Clearance: Pre-set at a 30-degree angle, the ergonomic handle reduces wrist fatigue and provides optimal visibility for precise depth control during rapid stippling motions.
  • Rigid Stainless Steel Wrapper: Unlike flexible nano blades, the hard stainless steel casing ensures structural stability and high tensile strength, making it highly effective for penetrating thick or sebaceous skin canvases.
  • Complete Procedural Setup: Each sterile blister pack arrives with the disposable combo brow microblade, a pigment ring, and a sticky forehead ruler to maximise workflow efficiency and sanitisation protocols.

Delivering high-retention combo brows requires premium manual tattoo supplies and chemically stable inks. Pair this microshading tool with the highly concentrated formulations of Tina Davies, or diversify your pigment library with the reliable healing profiles of Monica Ivani and Perma Blend.

Clinical Protocol & Tactile Execution

To execute a flawless powder effect, dilute your target pigment slightly to prevent the dense 19-pin cluster from over-saturating the tissue too quickly. Maintain a taut 3-point stretch to ensure the skin acts as a drum. Utilise a rapid, light tapping or "stippling" motion, keeping the tool perfectly perpendicular to the skin to ensure all 19 needles penetrate the epidermis at an even depth. CRITICAL: Do not drag or slice the needle. Dragging this honeycomb configuration will cause severe tissue trauma and heavy scabbing. Dispose of the entire unit in a certified sharps container post-procedure.

Luna’s Bench Protocol & PMU Aftercare

This microblading shading needle is my go-to for adding instant, soft density to the tails and spines of a brow when a client requests a "makeup look" but I don't want to set up my machine. Because the 0.35mm gauge and rigid wrapper deliver robust implantation, it works exceptionally well on oily, Fitzpatrick 3-4 skin types that typically reject fine nano strokes. The stippling technique does create a wider surface area of micro-wounds compared to single strokes. Therefore, barrier protection during healing is critical. Instruct clients to gently cleanse the area and apply a minimal, breathable layer of PMU Aftercare to soothe the dermal tissue and lock in the shaded gradient.

Technical FAQ: Execution, Depth Control & Troubleshooting

How do I prevent my shading from looking blocky or over-saturated with the 19 Shader? ▼

Blocky shading is caused by planting the needle too deeply and using undiluted pigment. To achieve a soft wash of colour, use a shading solution to thin your pigment by at least 30-50%. Keep your wrist loose and apply a rapid "tap-and-lift" stippling motion, barely grazing the upper papillary dermis. The 19 needles will deposit micro-dots of diluted pigment that heal into a soft, powdery veil.

What is the advantage of a honeycomb cluster over a flat shading needle? ▼

Flat shaders deposit pigment in a linear format, which can leave visible edges if not blended meticulously. The circular honeycomb configuration of the Tina Davies 19 Shader disperses the needles in a round cluster. This naturally creates a diffused, pixelated footprint with every tap, closely mimicking the scattered pixelation achieved by a rotary machine.

Is the rigid stainless steel wrapper safe to use on thin or mature skin? ▼

While the rigid wrapper provides excellent stability for thick, sebaceous skin, it lacks the "bounce" or forgiveness of a flexible wrapper. When stippling on thin, mature, or highly vascular skin, you must possess exceptional manual depth control to avoid penetrating into the reticular dermis, which will cause the pigment to ash out and blur. Always test your pressure on the outer tail first.
